From Caelia Reborn

The Home Page

Welcome to (hopefully) one of the only 'meta' pages in this pet project of mine. I will be doing my best to provide a database of information for you as players to draw upon, and better align your understanding of the world with your characters understanding of the world.

This will likely never be finished, but I guess that's why I chose to build this world in the first place, because it's the game I can endlessly play.

The Game We Play

Introduction

Caelia Reborn is the name I have chosen for our ongoing D&D 5e campaign that takes place in my homebrew setting of Cruseryx. It is a narrative driven story, where the characters backstories and decisions heavily influence the story being told. From my experience playing, the sessions we run are roughly 70% combat / exploration & 30% roleplay and downtime.

Whilst initially the game was focused around the core concept of the party carving out a piece of the chaotic world for themselves, it has developed (through player decisions) into a Law vs Chaos style of story. This shift reflects the ongoing conflict between The Caelian Empire and the rising and mysterious forces of Chaos that are emerging from all corners of the known world.

Rules

Caelia Reborn is run on a hybrid mix of 5e 2014 & 5e 2024, combining features of both rulesets. It is much more weighted towards the newer 2024 ruleset.

Monsters

All monster stat-blocks used in the campaign are either variations of the creatures found in the 2024 Monster Manual, or homebrew creations.

Player Characters

All player characters have been converted to the 2024 ruleset, with a mix of 2024 subclasses and additional sourcebook subclasses.

Spells

All spells are using the 2024 versions, despite the new 2024 spell rulings being significantly buffed for healers and significantly more confusing for counterspell.
